•Ken Dye, Minister for the Broadway Church of Christ in Lubbock, was the resource speaker for the MacArthur Park men’s retreat at Camp Bandina. The retreat focused on plans for the new year, setting goals and ways to reach them.
• Jose Cuellar, missionary in Puerto Rico for 17 years, visited and spoke to students at Grove Avenue. LA CASA graduated seven students.
• Joe Valenzuela, eight-year minister at Grove Avenue moved to Big Lake to begin new work.
• Bruce Utley, director at the SAC Student Center began a class titled, “The Life and Teachings of Jesus Christ”; a three hour credit course.
• The Christian Heritage Schools P.T.F.A. presidents Terrel and Glenda Hunter awarded first prize for Cookbook sales to Reanelle Harris. Runner-up winners recognized were Marcie Vaughn, Lisa Bates and Traci Hipp.
• Letter to the editor… Dear Sirs: Enclosed is a check for $20. This is to help you produce, print and mail your wonderful paper. I and my whole family enjoy reading it and eagerly await each new edition. God Bless you. Sincerely, Mary Monroe Marty
