Lampasas youth outreach leads to classes

SAN ANTONIO – The Alamo City Church of Christ here held an evangelistic campaign in June. Students from the Lampasas Church of Christ and Alamo City members passed out 30,000 brochures, targeting areas in North Central and the near West Side San Antonio.

Several new classes are being taught at the Bible Learning Center as a result of the campaign. The classes began June 17 and run through Aug. 12.

The titles and teachers are: "Getting to Know Jesus" - John Massie, "The Good News of the Gospel" - Mark Forster and "The Holy Spirit of God" - Joe Canales. The classes meet on Thursdays from 7 - 9 p.m.

The students from the spring series are continuing their studies in one of the other classes being taught. The classes meet at the same time and include a refreshment break. For more information, please call Director Curt Linge at (210) 736-6750.

Worship in Brackenridge Park

SAN ANTONIO -- Worship in Brackenridge Park served as the first homecoming for the Alamo City Church of Christ. Many former members attended and several led the worship service.

Bob Jackson (Sunset in Lubbock), Chad Massie (New Braunfels) and David Welch (MacArthur Park) directed the singing. Randy Thompson (MacArthur Park) presented thoughts for the Lord's Supper.

Bill Moses (Marble Falls) instructed with a reading of God's Word. Joey Canales (Lackland Terrace) told of his conversion and made an application for the audience.

Ron Bamburg (Shreveport, La.) addressed the theme for the sermon. The theme was "What a Fellowship!"

The gathering was a first in that it was a reunion of past members. The Lord has scattered members of the Alamo City congregation all over the world and it was a great homecoming.

A meal was served after worship and participants enjoyed much fellowship. The gathering was an outreach too, in that many members brought visitors and many students from the Bible Learning Center at SAC attended.
