CORPUS CHRISTI -- We had a very unusual set of baptisms recently at Kings Crossing. Jack North, one of our elders, baptized all three of his granddaughters in succession, on the evening of Oct. 15. Piper, Emory, and Arden Turman, all sisters, wanted to be baptized together to have the same spiritual birthday. Their parents are members at Kings Crossing, Greg and Joeli Turman.

Northside infants, members begin relationship

SAN ANTONIO -- At a special Oct. 12 ceremony, 21 babies who have been born during the past year to Northside parents here were dedicated to the Lord. In addition to being presented with a Bible, they were also given a letter from the elders to be opened when they reach twelve years of age.

Above, center, Ellis Henton offers the Shepherd’s prayer of blessing. Dr. David Mullins, Northside elder who has dedicated his life to caring for babies born prematurely, offered a prayer on their and their parents’ behalf during second service.

The congregation was also challenged to fulfill its obligation to assist in whatever way possible to their “increase in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man.”   David Allen is the pulpit minister.

Shaeffer blows roof off at rally

GALVESTON -- At the Gulf Coast Youth Rally on Nov. 14, Pat Shaeffer led an animated study of

Mark 2:4 (NASB): “Being unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above

Him; and when they had dug an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying.”

The rally was held in conjunction with the Gulf Coast Spiritual Growth Workshop at the Galveston

Island Convention Center at the San Luis Resort. The young people also filled sack lunch bags and later distributed them to the homeless in the area here.
