Outreach in NB through Impact
NEW BRAUNFELS – The New Braunfels congregation is working on making an effective and real impact on its community. This is the second year organizers have planned to dedicate three days to serve the community through a variety of activities.
Recently, Cassandra Massie and Rishanna Frech coordinated its annual Impact outreach. Over 300 participants divided up into crews and went to work all over town.
Activities included painting and yard work at St. Jude’s Children’s Home, feeding and visiting with residents of Kirkwood and Eden Nursing homes and preparing food for Comal County jail officers. Other crews picked up trash around town and helped single mothers and widows by doing yard work and completing paint jobs.
Children participated in more age-appropriate projects such as making cards and filling “Jesus Loves You Boxes” with goodies for orphans and soldiers. Some children made cards for cancer patients in Guatemala. Another group collected change in baby bottles for Options for Women.
A lot of work was completed during the three-day service project, reaching potentially thousands of people by putting flesh on Christian faith and serving as Christ to the community. Chad Massie is the local minister.
