Laurel Street provides healthy choices, information

SAN ANTONIO -- The members at West Laurel Street hosted a health fair to reach out to the community with health and other helpful information. Around 200 people came through the booths and exhibits during the 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. event on the church property on June 5.

A large tent was set up in the parking area where participants could also eat and enjoy visiting with one another. A group of teens did face painting for children.

Those who came to the fair were also invited to the upcoming VBS. A group of 25 members also went out during the week before to invite the neighboring residents to the VBS.

During VBS the following week, the highest attendance around 150 students who studied lessons on the theme, "Rise and Shine for Jesus." Friday evening featured an opportunity for the children to hit the sun piñata.
